The mystical island of Samothrace
Starting early in the morning our sailing experience with a 6-hour trip we will reach Samothrace. A Greek island located in the northeastern Aegean Sea, known for its natural beauty and rich historical and cultural heritage. If you have ever been to the Louvre museum in Paris, you have seen the “Victory of Samothrace” or “Nike of Samothrace” in the foyer. That masterpiece of sculpture was discovered here by a French archeologist in the early 60s. The island is home to the Sanctuary of the Great Gods, an ancient religious site that dates back to the 5th century BC and was considered one of the most important religious centers of the ancient world.
The island
Samothrace has a small population and limited tourism infrastructure, which makes it a great destination for visitors looking for a peaceful and unspoiled island experience.
Unique here are the hiking trails, suitable for different levels of experience, which lead to beautiful scenery with lots of waterfalls and rock pools to dive in. The water is a little cold but believes us, it’s a breathtaking experience that you don’t want to miss. If you want to stay on the boat Sailing and snorkeling in crystal clear water is a must and if you are lucky you may see dolphins or sea turtles passing by.
Food
The food on the island is exceptional. Famous here is Katsikaki (goat) on a spit, in a pan, in parchment, with rice, with plums, and many more ways. Samothrace ( Samothraki) is also famous for fresh fish and seafood. Don’t be impressed if the owner will invite you inside to show you the catch of the day!

Unspoiled and authentic
A small paradise with picturesque fishing villages, verdurous mountains, valleys, and great beaches. Heading to the second island Lemnos after a 6h trip, Lemnos is ready to satisfy all visitors. Unspoiled by tourists, it is known for its natural beauty, long sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and its long history. Mythology says that this was the land of God Hephaestus and the land of Amazons, the fierce women who lived in a female community.
Here you will find sandy beaches, lagoons, a natural Salt Lake, and even the one and only Greece’s dessert (Ammothines). For nature lovers, notice on the north side there are lakes where a remarkable group of pink flamingos visits the island each year.
Food
Fresh fish, seafood, and lobsters! The food on the island is exceptional with many local products that you really need to try and take them back home with you. Kalathaki cheese (a PDO traditional white salted cheese), unique local honey, flomaria (a local type of pasta), and of course don’t miss a wine tasting of some Top Quality Greek wines awarded with prizes in international wine contests and exhibitions. Rumor has it that ambrosia, a special wine only for Olympian Gods, was made on the island!

After spending 2 days in Limnos is time to see a tiny beautiful island with 270 habitats that will impress you and stay in your memory. The island is known for its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. It has a small population and is not a very touristy destination, making it a great place for those looking for a quiet and unspoiled vacation experience. Agios Efstratios 0r else, Ai Stratis, has also another uniqueness. Is going to be the first completely independent green island in Greece!
We will sail to the island and anchor at coastal beaches with crystal clear water where you could enjoy snorkeling, paddling, and relaxing under the sun. The port of Agios Efstratios is so small that you can walk around it easily and eat delicious fresh food in one of the few restaurants that are there. Needless to say that the courtesy and kindness of the locals will impress you. If you are lucky maybe you may even have a chance to enjoy some Greek music and dance in the public square until the early morning hours.
The island’s lighthouse offers great views of the surrounding islands and sea.

Ouranoupoli: The city of God
Ouranoupoli is not a casual name as in Greek means “the city of heaven” and in fact is considered the gateway to Mount Athos. As women are not allowed to visit Mount Athos for religious reasons, a sailing cruise, suitable for women and families, is a great option to see the natural beauty of the stunning coastline and be impressed by the monasteries. Here you can enjoy fresh local fish in one of the taverns, dive and snorkel in crystal clear waters, do water sports, or just enjoy reading your book and relaxing.
Ammouliani
A small island close to Ouranoupoli with golden sand, shallow water, no currents and winds. Famous beaches here are Alikes, Megali Ammos, Agios Georgios and our favorite Karagatsia. Hot spot here is also Drenia, an archipelago with tiny islets with sandy beaches. (there is even a beach bar in the biggest one)
USEFUL INFORMATION
- Can I visit Mount Athos?
Only adult men and males under the age of 18 accompanied by their fathers are permitted to enter Mount Athos. This rule, which is known as the “avaton”, forbids access to Mount Athos to any female and is enforceable by law.
- How can I visit Mount Athos?
You must call the phone number in Thessaloniki (30-2310-252578) to make your request for a permit, but you pick it up at the office in Ouranoupoli on the day of your departure. Unless you are personally invited by a monk from Mount Athos, you need to make your request six months before you intend to travel.
- I am a woman, can I visit Mount Athos?
Unfortunately, no. Women are not allowed to enter Mount Athos. Of course, the Mount Athos monks explain that the prohibition is not a disparagement of women, but a respect for monasticism and protection of monks from temptation. Mount Athos also honors the Blessed Virgin Mary, through whom the sacrament of the Incarnation of the Son and the Word of God took place. That is why it is also called the “Orchard of the Virgin”.

Vourvourou-Diaporos
Emerald waters, pine trees that grow up to the shore, and small bays for you to dive into this magic scenery. On top of all that, there is a cluster of islands, nine in number the most important of which is Diaporos. Here the water is calm and warm, ideal also for winter swimmers.
Kalamitsi
Used to be a small fish village but now is a destination for those who seek beautiful scenery both inside and outside of the water. In fact, snorkeling here is so promising. Located in the south edge of the second peninsula, Kalamitsi is considered to be one of the best beaches on Sithonia. The beach is well arranged, and there are plenty of beach bars where you can enjoy your coffee (must try espresso freddo or cappuccino freddo), a fruit salad or your drinks.

Porto Koufo
A small quiet fishing village with a lot of fresh fish! Porto Koufo means “the deaf harbor” since the sea could not be heard from the port. It is the safest and deepest natural harbor in Greece surrounded by steep mountains forming a beautiful scenery that looks like a lake. Enjoy your fresh fish in the fish tavernas. Here you don’t want to miss some of the best seafood in Sithonia.
Neos Marmaras
Cosmopolitan and touristy here you will find everything. From big supermarkets and shops to the police station, post office and banks. Stroll in the streets and discover colorful traditional taverns, restaurants with international and mediterranean food and exquisite cocktails. Night life here is also very vivid.

The most pittoresque village
Located in the first peninsula of Chalkidiki, Afitos is picturesque and beautiful. It is unique in all Chalkidiki with a splendid view of Toroneos gulf as the village is built on a hill above the coast. Most of the houses are built of stone with excellent unique architecture. Cobbled streets and traditional taverns with amazing food create a beautiful scenery totally harmonized with the natural landscape. Last but not least, the beach here is also amazing with a couple of organized beach bars.
Polichrono-Pefkochori-Chanioti
Big and beautiful beach and common destination for families and not only. Lots of beach bars, and traditional taverns with delicious food. Harmonious coexistence of nature and tradition. Here the small villages are touristy, vivid and very alive during the peek of summer season (July, August).

Our last island before returning back to Keramoti and there are some amazing beaches to discover.
Paliouri
A small hidden bay with a coast of soft, fine, and very white sand, and extremely transparent, crystalline calm waters in a color palette of ranges from blue to turquoise. A real paradise for families with young children as the water here is shallow and very well organized with sunbeds, umbrellas, colorful cocktails, quick dishes, or snacks to appease the hunger that the sea air usually brings. You can also find watersports here and if you are in the mood for a party check here every Sunday is the right spot to dance until the morning.
Posidi
From Robert De Niro, Angelina Jolie, and Brad Pitt to Bellucci, Possidi with its wonderful unique Miti (in Greek means nose) makes its visitors fall in love with it. Here there are no comforts, no sunbeds, umbrellas, or refreshment points, only unspoiled and wild nature. Enjoy the silence.
Sani
The scenery here is a long coast of soft light sand, bathed by clear and crystalline waters from bright blue to turquoise and blue. Water sports, bars, restaurants and of course the Sani Resort that owns most of the beach. Famous here is the Tower of Sni (Stavronikita) where every year the famous Sani Festival is organized and artists from all over the world are invited to play under the stars and the August moon.
Potidea
The canal that connects Thermaikos with Toroneos Gulf. Known as the Kassandra’s Gate the canal was opened for the first time in the 4th century BC. Today is a modern village with a huge sandy coast and lots of day and nightlife.
